CHARGING BIKE
Korte Jan er vores mest alsidige hverdagscykel. Hurtig, smidig og ekstraordinær god til at fragte ting og sager på. Hvert stel er håndbygget, primært i genbrugsmaterialer fra gamle cykelstel
Ordinary Jan.
Raw, durable and not too expensive.
The classic Korte Jan frame rebuilt from recycled frames, built up with new components, such as internal Shimano nexus 3 gears and foot brake, sturmey archer drum brakes or front rim brakes.
The frame has not been repainted so it appears with the original frame's colors and patina. Approximate price DKK 7,900-9,500.
Fast Jan.
Fast colors and good gears.
It is still a bike with good load capacity, but built a little lighter and with more and better gears, possibly disc brakes etc.
Can be repainted in fast color. Approximate price DKK 9,000-12,000.
Fancy Jan.
We make the frame specifically for you, and you get to decide the color of the frame.
Together we talk about which driving characteristics it should be optimized for and you are allowed to interfere in the process. It is obviously a bike with a bigger budget for components and the price is very dependent on what you choose. Price from DKK 11,000.
We produce Korte Jan bicycles because the earth's resources are limited.
Because the amount of scrapped bikes is despicable and we want to do something about it.
And because it is enormous fun to make unique and good bikes COMPLETELY from scratch.
The biggest CO2 culprit in the production of bicycle frames is the material itself. There is a long way from ore in the ground to finished metal, which is suitable for making bicycle frames. That's why we recycle.
And Denmark is overflowing with abandoned bicycles where the frame has absolutely nothing wrong with it. We often find frames made of very good quality tubes. It really is a shame if all that bike frame material has to go to waste.
That's why we cut old frames to pieces to get good tubes for bicycle frame production. From them we build a bicycle according to our own design - An idea that started as bicycles for ourselves.
